Christmas Fair– We had so much fun at our Christmas fair. The children enjoyed a variety of Christmas activities and many visited one of our bug sessions, hosted by our special guest ‘The Bug Lady.’ Santa also visited and handed out presents in his grotto; plus, our pre-school children put on a superb carol service. They even managed to use sign language alongside their last song. We were lucky enough to have many stalls for our parents to browse, as well as a cake stand in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Children in Need – We had so much fun in the run up to Children in Need. All of our playrooms hosted an array of creative and messy activities and we all dressed in yellow or Pudsey outfits. We managed to raise a few hundred pounds for this worthy cause.
Remembrance Day– Our children at Pebbles had a week of creativity in aid of Remembrance Day. The pre-school children walked to the cenotaph in our park ‘Nunroyd Park.’ We all participated in the two-minute’s silence and watched whilst the poppy wreath was laid.
Pebbles’ Summer Fair – This summer, we held our annual summer fair. We were lucky with the weather so we set up a lot of activities outdoors as well as indoors. We had ‘hook a duck,’ tombola, face painting, biscuit decorating, raffle, bouncy castle, a big obstacle course, throwing the wellies and a cake stall in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Leeds Cardiology – We held a charity event in aid of ‘Keeping The Beat’ for Leeds Cardiology unit. We look a after a superb little boy who has a heart condition and we wanted to help. Children, staff and parents came together to toddle around our park for this worthy cause.
Comic Relief – Comic Relief is a fantastic charity and the children have enjoyed wearing red all week and taking part in lots of different red activities like red painting/ sticking/ water play/ activity tray. Our joke board has also given us a bit of light comic relief.
World Book Day – All the children and staff had lots of fun dressing up as a character from a book. We also had a successful book swap table.
SANDS charity toddle – Our toddle around Nunroyd park was very well attended and we all collectively managed to clock up over 30 miles so we smashed our #15 mile challenge. We also raised a fantastic amount of money for the SANDS charity, thank you everyone who joined in.
We would like to thank everyone who has joined and helped us to support Pebbles’ charity events this year. We have raised over £1800 this year for so many fantastic causes. Thank you all so much for your generosity.
Christmas Fair.- December 1st – This was a very successful and well attended event. The children had lots of fun playing our fair games, jumping on the bouncy castle, as well as having a go at ballet and seeing Santa himself. A carol concert led by the preschool children was loved by all.
Onsie Week- Autism Awareness – October –Children and staff wore pj’s and onesies all week at nursery, to raise awareness of Autism. Our collections were donated to an autism awareness charity. Thank you.
Treasure Hunt – Mind- September – Children and parents were invited to join us on a treasure hunt around Nunroyd park, on the look out for pictures and numbers – leading back to a real life treasure chest…. but were they able to crack the code to get their hands on the treasure??!!
Summer Fair and MacMillan Cake morning – Saturday 14th July. – Stalls, face painting, cake sales, raffle, tombola, fun and games. Lots of fun was had by all, especially the water splat game!!! We all had a fantastic day and raised a £500+. A massive thank you to all that came and joined in.
Bliss Superhero Toddle – Saturday 21st April – Today, the Tarn at Yeadon was taken over by Superheroes! Children and parents joined some of our staff members to toddle around the Tarn dressed as Superheroes (pants on top!) We kicked off with a ‘shake your silly’s out’ warm up before we all toddled around the tarn and ended with a play in the park. The weather was fantastic which helped make our toddle a big success! You all helped to make a fantastic £609.10 – how amazing!
Sports Relief – Thursday 22nd March –Throughout the week, the children were all taking part in different age appropriate sporting activities, from bubble popping, wake me up, shake me up dancing, to waffle racing and bike races. Children have also been wearing red all week. On the day itself, staff and parents pulled together and jumped on an exercise bike and collectively cycled a fantastic 80miles to help raise money for this fabulous charity. We all helped to raise a fantastic £203.13 – Thank you everyone.
World Book Day – Thursday 1st March– The snow delayed our World Book Day until 8th March but despite another bout of snow to try ruin our fun…. lots of staff and children dressed up as characters from their favourite books. There were some fantastic costumes and some lovely new books to share.
Children In Need – Friday 17th November – Our children were invited to wear pj’s to nursery all week on the lead up to 17th November. Lots of baking took place to sell, in order to raise funds for this fantastic cause. You all helped to raise over £250. Well done.
Pink Party – Friday 20th October – Everyone was invited to wear pink to nursery to help raise awareness of Breast Cancer. A bake sale took place as well as pink activities throughout the week.
Coffee Morning – Saturday 14th October – Parents are invited to come along to nursery for a coffee and cake for a chance to mingle with other parents, as well as getting a chance to chat to the staff/ key workers.
Summer fete – Saturday 2nd September – Parents and children were invited to come along and have some fun. A bouncy castle, stalls, tombola and raffle, were just a few of the fun things we had in store. You all helped to raise over £200 for new resources in nursery. Woohoo!
Peppa Pig Muddy Puddle walk- raising money for ‘Save The Children’ – Saturday 13th May – The children were invited to toddle around Nunroyd Park, searching for Peppa Pig and her friends, whilst having fun splashing in muddy puddles. There was a bun sale too. You all helped to raise a fantastic amount – over £300. Thank you!
JDRF Raising awareness for Type 1 diabetes – Week comm. 27th March. All children and staff were invited to wear blue or come dressed as a superhero, any day, everyday of the week. The children made superhero smoothies and baked buns for sale. There was also a couple of games for all to play including: name the teddy and baby photo guessing game. Lots of fun for all. A fabulous £203.30 has been raised for this fantastic charity. Well done everyone.
RED NOSE DAY – Friday 24th March. All children were invited to come to nursery wearing red; we didn’t forget our red noses!!! Donations to this fab cause were gratefully received. Thank you to everyone who helped us raise a fantastic £80.88

CHILDRENS CHRISTMAS PARTY – Saturday 17th December- 10am-12pm. Children of Pebbles Nursery… we would like to invite you and your Mummies and Daddies to come and enjoy the festive fun at our children’s Christmas party. Come along and enjoy party games, Christmas activities, bouncy castle (under 2’s) A visit from a very special guest (HO HO HO!!) as well as food, festive music and a few stalls for the parents to purchase from. Stalls inc. Forever Living (aloe vera products), Body Shop and Hush Hugs (Pashminas and jewellery) There will be a raffle on the day so all come along and join in the festive fun!
CHRISTMAS JUMPERS – December 2016 – Normally we hold a christmas jumper week at nursery to raise money for a worthy charity. This year however, as we have had so much great support over the last few months with other charity events, we have decided to dedicate the month of December to wearing your best christmas jumpers, outfits, onsies. So lets all get into the spirit of Christmas and lets see what fantastic festive outfits we all have to show off. Happy Christmas!
CHILDREN IN NEED – 14th-18th November – All children are invited to come to nursery dressed up as a superhero, a children’s character or dressed in something yellow (£1 donation would be gratefully recieved!) During the week, the children will be baking and decorating biscuits, buns and cakes to sell, as well as having fun with face paints, painting and colouring Pudsey bear pictures with spots and yellow media. We’re sure the children will also use this time to hatch a plan to save the world, whilst dressed as superheroes!! Lots of fun to be had! Thank you for all your support; we raised a fantastic £144.53
PINK WEEK -17th-24th October – All the children are encouraged to come to nursery wearing something pink in support of breast cancer. A £1 donation would be gratefully received! The children will be, amongst other things, decorating biscuits and buns with pink icing, painting with pink paint and sprinkling with pink glitter!! We had a fantastic pink week raising a brilliant £104.36 – thank you everyone!
TEDDY BEARS PICNIC- 10th August – We will be holding a teddy bear’s picnic to raise money for Crackerjacks Children’s Charity. CrackerJacks are a great charity that try and gain funding to help provide support and resources for children with disabilities.
We made a fantastic £121.68 for Crackerjacks. Thank you everyone!
PIRATE AND PRINCESS WEEK -Week commencing 22nd June 2015. Dress up week. Pebbles is hosting a Princess & Pirate Day in aid of The Crackerjacks Children’s Trust. Crackerjacks Children’s Trust, are committed to offering help and assistance to any child or their family who have suffered a severe disability. Crackerjacks Children’s Trust – Registered Charity No. 1146586. We are hoping all our children and parents will participate. We are looking forward to a fun filled week dressing up with lots of pirate and princess activities going on.
